Measuring an Asteroid's Rotation Period From a Backyard Telescope

AbstractUsing open photometric data and a consumer telescope, this study estimates the rotation period of asteroid (433) Eros through light-curve analysis, and examines where amateur measurement diverges from observatory-grade results.
